The Regional Technology Platform of the Region of Western Greece presents an effort undertaken in the framework of the Regional Innovation Pole of Western Greece aiming at the promotion and coordination of research in four thematic axes, more specifically
- Industrial Systems and Communications
- Industrial Control
- Embedded Systems
- Information System and Network Security
The Regional Technology Platform has succeeded in creating a network of enterprises in the Region of Western Greece with expressed interest in conducting R&D work in the above axes, as well as a network of academic / research institutions, thus bringing together the research world from both academia / enterprises and aspiring to act as a catalyst towards the transformation of research into innovative products and services.
The Regional Technology Platform of Western Greece organizes a one-day conference on October 17th, 2008, that will showcase the results of this effort, while it will explore good practices for the promotion of innovation.
We have the honor to have distinguished key-note speakers including
- Konstantinos Glinos, Executive Director of ARTEMIS
- Wayne Wolf, Professor at Georgia Tech University
- Vasilios Makios, General Director of the Corallia Cluster
- Matjaz Colnaric, Vice President of the Slovenian ARTEMIS Technology Platform
The results of the Regional Technology Platform and the specific results per axis will be presented by the Technology Platform Managing Committee comprising:
- Athanasios Kalogeras, RTP Manager, Industrial Systems Institute
- Stavros Koubias, Rector of the University of Patras
- Antonios Tzes, Director of the Center for Computer Aided Control Systems Design, at the University of Patras
- Dimitrios Serpanos, Director of the Industrial Systems Institute
- Pavlos Spirakis, Director of the Computer Technology Institute
